Each product is engineered from diverse bio-based waste streams, including eggshells, pistachio shells, hazelnut shells, expired rice, malt husk, and more, transforming underutilized resources into durable, design-forward surfaces.
Since launching in 2020, Ottan has developed more than 20 unique formulations across multiple lines: Core Line, Core Line Seasonal, Core Line Seasonal Translucent, Acoustic Line, and Stone Line. Classified according to surface character, area of application, and technical performance, every collection highlights the intrinsic qualities of its natural feedstock.
Ottan materials possess natural durability and chemical resistance, which can be further enhanced through surface finishing and top coating applications. Attributes such as acoustic absorption, impact resistance, and dimensional stability further expand their potential for architecture, interiors, and product design.
Core Line
The Core Line represents Ottan’s first set of fully commercialized materials, designed for both design versatility and industrial reproducibility. It includes four distinctive formulations: Eggy, Moon, Nutty, and Nuts.
Nutty: Produced from hazelnut shells, delivering warm brown tones and durability comparable to hardwood and solid surfaces.
Nuts: A hybrid of hazelnut and pistachio shells, resulting in robust, wood-like surfaces with distinctive natural textures.
Eggy: Derived from eggshells, offering natural beige tones and unique color variations.
Moon: A composite of eggshells and pistachio shells, providing a refined, neutral surface quality with enhanced strength.
Designed with scalability in mind, Core Line materials are optimized for mass-production methods, enabling consistent reproduction without compromising on texture, mechanical strength, or visual authenticity. Unlike our Core line, our products within this category are presented as seasonal materials, allowing for potential color variations between batches.
Crafted from an array of green waste including sawn grass, fallen leaves, expired lentils in various colors, and more, these materials exemplify our commitment to sustainability. With a range of 50% to 72% upcycled content, they embody both eco-consciousness and innovation.

Core Line Seasonal - Translucent

Stone Line
The Stone Line redefines interior surfacing with robust, textured panels that evoke the tactile authenticity of natural stone.
Formulated from feedstocks such as expired rice, pistachio shells, and other agricultural by-products, the line achieves up to 85% upcycled content. These panels offer mechanical strength, tactile depth, and long-lasting durability, making them ideal for wall claddings, vertical surfaces, and architectural accents.
